WHAT IS ECU TUNING
Sometimes referred as ECU tuning or chip tuning, put simply it is where a vehicle’s’ settings are modified and tweaked based on the owners request and preferences. Customising exactly how the engine performs and operates within legal limitations.
SHOULD I TUNE MY CAR
Ah yes the most asked and searched question. Remapping is great for those that wish to get the best their car can offer, increasing horsepower, power delivery, performance, drivability and even tuning for greater fuel efficiency.
CAN IT BE DONE TO ALL CARS
Not always , we find that cars built before 2000 are just too old to and don’t not have the ability to have the ECU if they have one to be tuned
WHAT CAN ECU TUNING DO
Performance Increase – One most common requested style of remap, designed to increase the power, allowing for much quick acceleration, increased 0-60 times faster overall top speeds and increased BHP, this style of remaps generally increase fuel consumption.
Greater Fuel Economy – Tuning for performance is only one aspect. We can alternatively tune for greater fuel efficiency by decreasing fuel consumption at high revs and increasing power at low revs.
WILL IT DAMAGE MY ENGINE
No. Not if performed correctly. Although changes you make put slight increased strain on your engine, if done by a trained profession the engine shall be perfectly safe.
STAGE 1 & 2 TUNING
Stage 1 non modified cars and stage 2 physical modifications i.e upgraded intakes, intercoolers etc.
HARD CUT LIMITER
Available for most diesel vehicle. A DPF delete shall be required for this to be mapped.
STOP / START OFF
Get rid of that pesky automatic stop start function
The delegation of any DTCs requested from customer, when it is not advised against from ourselves
POPS AND BANGS
For petrol vehicles available for most makes and models, removal of cat required
SPEED LIMTER REMOVAL
Available for most vehicles where it has been restricted by previous mapping
